Philadelphia mahogany compressed ball candlestand with a dish rimmed top on a birdcage tri-pod base ending in snake feet. Highly figured, the piece is composed of walnut, and has a hinged oval top, tilting and revolving on its pedestal base. Most likely from Philadelphia, circa 1760.
